Air pollution contributes significantly to ill health and disease in the community whether from motor vehicles, wood fires or industrial emissions.
The WA Government created the Perth Air Quality Management plan to address the growing adverse impacts of population increase and industrial expansions. A five year review was recently completed and soon to reported on.
The federal government is responsible for setting the National Environmental Protection measures for air quality and recently reviewed the standard for protection from dangerous PM 2.5 (micron sized)
Both state and federal government’s conduct air quality projects and ACE has actively engaged with both levels of government to improve public health and environmental standards, to raise community awareness about air quality and encourage active civic engagement in WA on these important issues.
ACE also conducts air quality campaigns for the Swan Valley Brickworks and the National Air Care Australia and Bucket Brigadeinitiatives.
